The concept of donating our Brasil Comes to You dinners has evolved into a meaningful way to support local charitable organizations and their fundraising efforts. This initiative has benefited service organizations, churches, food banks, and schools throughout the community. We have also volunteered our time cooking for local shelters in partnership with the Fishline Food Bank and Olive Garden, which have generously helped provide dinners to those in need.
In 2025, we were honored to support a local low-income seniors’ home, helping address loneliness and connection through food. In partnership with Silverdale Lutheran Church, we organized a special brunch fundraiser to support local seniors. Our efforts also included two additional events: a summer cooking class for seniors and a Christmas dinner celebration in collaboration with Olive Garden. These experiences brought joy, connection, and community to the seniors, and we are already planning to return this summer in partnership with the Kidney Center.
Looking ahead to 2026, we will continue cooking for local shelters while organizing two additional events at the seniors’ home. We have also launched community pop-up cooking events in local kitchens, creating opportunities for people to learn how to prepare fresh, healthy meals while minimizing food waste and reducing reliance on ultra-processed foods.

Since 2020, we have proudly supported Gastromotiva, a nonprofit organization in Rio de Janeiro that uses food as a powerful tool for social change. Gastromotiva focuses on education, food waste prevention, and creating economic opportunities through culinary training programs that help low-income individuals build successful careers. Through their work, they have educated thousands of people and inspired meaningful change throughout their communities.
In 2025, Brasil Comes to You made a special appearance in Rio de Janeiro just before Carnival, bringing the spirit of New Orleans Mardi Gras to individuals living in vulnerable situations. We hosted two memorable events: a paid lunch fundraiser to help support the evening dinner, followed by a free Mardi Gras-inspired dinner for 90 guests, complete with
live music and celebration.
This experience remains close to our hearts as a reminder of how food, culture, and musiccan bring joy, connection, and hope to people’s lives.
